Myanmar's digital media landscape in 2024 is expected to continue to evolve with a variety of platforms playing a significant role in how people communicate, entertain, and do business. Here are some key digital media indicators for Myanmar in 2024.

The population of Myanmar in 2024 is estimated to be between 54.5 million and 55.75 million. And the Internet penetration in Myanmar is estimated to be 45.67% in 2024. In January 2024, there were 24.11 million internet users in Myanmar, or 44% of the population. The major shift in the use of the internet can be attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused an increase in the demand for digital media. And it remains the same after the pandemic. In early 2024, there were 16.65 million TikTok users in Myanmar who were 18 years of age or older. TikTok ads reached 69% of the local internet user base in Myanmar in early 2024.

YouTube is also one of the most popular platforms, with a focus on video content. 

Instagram had 1.75 million users in Myanmar in early 2024. 

Viber, Telegram and Messenger  are the most common messaging apps in Myanmar.

Some of the trending social media marketing methods in Myanmar in 2024 includes:

Myanmar's digital commerce market  is still growing but there are several restrictions than in 2021.  All e-commerce businesses in Myanmar are required to register by January 21, 2024. Failure to register may result in imprisonment of up to three years and a fine of up to MMK 500,000.

Some of the most popular payment methods in Myanmar include: KBZpay, Wave Money, Mobile banking apps such as CB Pay, AYA Mobile Banking and KBZmBanking.

The most popular e-commerce websites are Shop.com.mm and 365myanmar.com and others but e-commerce platforms are not that much trending due to unfamiliarity with websites in Myanmar.
